If the communications port to which the GPS receiver is attached is known, this type of autodetect can save time by searching only on that port.

To perform an autodetect on a single communications port, first set the port to a non-zero value, and then the protocol to GPSPROTOCOL_UNKNOWN. In this mode of operation, all of the valid baud rates and protocols will be searched on the specified port.
