LinksPoint, Inc. awarded first GPS-related patent

Methods for Automatically Detecting GPS Hardware patent is first in a series of patents in process for fast-growing Location Information Systems company

Norwalk, CT (July 9, 2002) – LinksPoint, Inc., a leader in Location Information Systems today announced that the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has awarded the Company its first patent for its innovations in mobile data and location technologies. The Methods for Automatically Detecting GPS Hardware patent (United States Patent 6,389,359) covers software created for devices utilizing the Global Positioning System (GPS). The method described in the patent automates the process of configuring software and connecting GPS receivers, allowing applications to be easily integrated with a wide range of GPS hardware.
